Logged on @05:27 to Poker....awoke early and for second straight day, after failed attempts to get back to sleep....off to Poker....21'K drop and @5:28 "sat down" at a 1K/.5K table....the /usual 125K max-buy-in.....table sized varied almost every other hand....from a couple of hands "heads up" and every other number of player up to and including a couple of hands with 7 players....but for the great majority of the session it was one game after another of "My pairs bigger than Yours'".....early on a rook came to the table [less than 100 hands played]....who played an extremely aggressive style....I thought to myself he'd probably watch too many episodes of the world series of poker....and went on one of the best runs of poker I've seen in quite awhile....eventually a player I've played with before arrived....plays a similar style and for the next several hands it was a "playground" Bully vs Bully match which the rook eventually won....and right on cue another player arrived....same style....[played with him before to]....and another 2 man over the top battle royal began....this time the rook's luck ran out and he busted out....and the winner tried the "table captain" thing....and left when he couldn't get anyone to play along....
And in the middle of this utter chaos....I was trying to play my small ball, tight style....which for the most part just flat wasn't working....was up a little early....took a hit when I flopped a house and got beat by a runner,runner better house....knew it was a 50/50 call....but the price was right....was down about 20K....got some decent cards....made some pots....but mostly small/blind pots in the brief lulls in the insanity of the table....made quad Nines and a decent pot....got almost back to level....caught a few decent pocket cards....paid to see the flop and missed....was thinking of staying longer but the appearance of a kamikaze changed my mind....ergo....101 minutes played....142 hands played....42.7 second hands....28 wins....1 every 5+ hands....left 19,275$ on the table....[no slots]....
