[[From the Tables]...just a typical start to another day..up around 04:00..morning offline routine.. check.. emails & FB groups..check..off to play my morning session of poker..as/always grabbed the awaiting 2.5K$ "house money" & went looking for a "Duck Pond" with preferably a low average pot size..100$ was the best available & "JC2" at table..(1st hand@:[04:30]:)..for the first few hands was a friendly table..won 9 of my 12 pots won very quickly..all were of the small/blinds variety..but then a mega-pot pusher arrived & either I got rags in the pocket or just wasn't willing to pay the pre-flop bump to continue..his stay was brief,,he left & the chair was taken by a kamikaze & save on a rare call of the "big" or he had just busted out..in was all-in..all the time..did have pocket Kings one hand..but with 3 players already all-in..mucked 'um..would have lost the pot..the few hands I did get to play..rags in the hole..just before I left..2 Bullets in the hole..last to act..2 already all-in..called..I had the fewest chips in the pot..a pair of Ladies took the top half of the pot & I tripled up..the last few hands..back to a friendly table & I won a couple of small blind pots with 2-pairs..got to the "button"..folded rags & left for the "lobby" with more chips than I had brung with me but not what I'd call a good day..I enjoy playing poker,,but on this day very little "poker" was played....[06:23 UTC-5]..../....

...Just another workmanlike day on "Sim&Solitaire" play..,high note a clear on "Crescent".."Reply Poker"..I get it..there is nothing of real value at stack..we ain't playing with the "rent money"..but I still can't understand the kamikaze..other than they play for what we would have called back in the day the "jazz" the "rush"..but there is nothing at risk except a few chips..valuable nowhere but in the game..just don't get it...../....

Glossary of Terms Spades

A game: made up of several hands, collect 500 points and you win....you can also win regardless of you're score if your opponents score -200 points or more

Bags: if you as a team take more tricks then you bid, you get 1 bag for each trick over, collect 10 and you lose 100 points

Bid: before a hand is played, based on the cards you hold, now many tricks you can win

Hand: players play one card each high card in suit takes the hand unless a trump is played and then high trump wins the hand, 13 tricks per hand

Lay of the cards: how the cards are dealt on any given hand

Nil Bid: a bid of nil......your intent to not take a trick in a hand, +100 points if you succeed, -100 points if you take even 1 trick

Over bid hand: there are 13 tricks per hand.....if the bids total 14 or more....one team will go back...maybe both

Set: a team failures to make their bid, their lose 10 points for each bid example team total bid was 7, team took 6 or less tricks....you lose 70 points.....also referred to as "going in the hole" or "going back"

Suits: Spades, Clubs, Diamonds, Hearts

Trick: one round of play in a hand

Trump: in Spades, the spades are always trump, beats everything except a higher trump, can only be played if you don't have the suit lead..must be played if trump is lead.....trump can't be lead until a player trumps in....

Trumping In: playing a trump on a trick when you are out of that suit....but it's the players choice...unless trump is lead...

We/They: as in any partners card game one of the possible names for the 2 teams....I've seen "us" & "them".....and a few others i can't mention here

Glossary of Terms Solitaire

Auto-play: when the next series of moves is obvious, the game may automatically do them.{aka: auto-fill}....

Foundation: where you're trying to more the cards to.....move them all and you win

DECK: from which cards are turned over one at a time

Relaxed: a change in the rules from the standard game to make it play easier..varies from game to game..

Re-Set/Undo: both Just Solitaire and World of Solitaire games have both a re-set and an undo option....re-set takes the game back to the start....undo will remove one move at a time....both can be useful to try other options....

Tableau: where the cards to be moved start the hand
